General terms and conditions of sale

General terms and conditions of sale

1. Admission requirements :

The services (courses, activities, accommodation) offered by the Alliance française de Toulouse are aimed at students aged 18 and over (16 and over with parental authorisation).

2. Financial conditions :

- Courses and registration fees must be paid at least 7 days before the start of the course. Similarly, the completed placement test must be sent to the Alliance française de Toulouse at least 6 days before the start of the course. After this deadline, the student will only be able to enrol if places are available.

- The enrolment fee (€50) is valid for 12 months from the date of enrolment. The enrolment fee and the cost of finding accommodation are non-refundable for any reason whatsoever.

- Any session started must be paid for in full and no refunds or postponements will be made, except in the event of illness and/or incapacity, justified by a medical certificate.

- Tuition fees do not include the cost of books and exercise books.

- Public holidays are neither made up nor reimbursed; fees are fixed and independent of the number of working days per session.

- Bank charges for bank transfers are the responsibility of the student. Cheques from foreign banks and American Express cards are not accepted.

- All payments must be made in euros: in cash, by Visa or Mastercard, by bank transfer or by cheque (French banks).

3. Teaching conditions :

- All students must take the Alliance Française de Toulouse placement test at the time of enrolment. No student can choose the level of the course in which he/she will participate. The Alliance Française de Toulouse cannot enrol a student whose level of written expression is very different from their level of oral expression in a general French group course.

- The Alliance Française de Toulouse cannot finalise an enrolment without knowing the level of the student who enrols: it is therefore not committed to a student who has not taken the placement test at least 6 days before the start of the course.

- A course can only start if at least 8 students are enrolled. In the event of cancellation, the Alliance française de Toulouse will offer a modification of the enrolment or a full refund to the students enrolled.

- In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the management of the Alliance Française de Toulouse reserves the right to make minor changes to dates or timetables without prior notice.

- Lessons can be given by one or more teachers.

4. Cancellation policy :

- Students wishing to cancel their enrolment must inform the Alliance Française de Toulouse at least 7 days before the start of their course, returning the original enrolment certificate. A fee of 100€ will be retained for administrative costs. If the 7 working day notice period is not respected, a sum corresponding to one session of the course will be retained, whatever the type of course.

5. Student visa :

 - A certificate of long-term enrolment at the Alliance française de Toulouse can be used to obtain a long-stay student visa. The student undertakes to attend classes for the full duration of their stay and no early termination will be possible, whatever the reason. Please note the specific rules of each country, but the Alliance française de Toulouse is under no obligation to provide information on obtaining visas or residence permits.

 - The student must pay a deposit of at least 3 months and the balance on arrival (it is possible to pay the balance in instalments, by written request to the management). Payments must be made in instalments from the time of arrival: at the beginning of each session, the student must pay the sum corresponding to four weeks' tuition until the balance has been paid in full.

- A break of up to one month will be tolerated, with a minimum of 7 days' notice.

- Enrolment in our school implies total availability to follow all the courses chosen. Signing a work contract or enrolling at university, for example, do not allow for occasional absences or early withdrawal from courses.

- If the long-stay visa is not obtained, the student may be reimbursed (100€ will be retained by the Alliance française for administrative costs) on condition that he/she provides us with the original enrolment certificate and proof that the visa has not been obtained at least 7 days before the start of the chosen course, otherwise a sum corresponding to one course session will be retained.

6. Examinations :

- Examinations are subject to a fee. Fees are indicated at the time of registration. Examination fees cannot be refunded in the event of cancellation.

7. Insurance :

- Students are responsible for their own health, accident and civil liability insurance, either in their home country or in France. Civil liability insurance is compulsory.

8. Behaviour and attendance :

- Enrolment in our school implies punctuality, regular attendance and respect for people and property. A teacher has the right not to accept a student who is late. All absences must be justified; too many absences mean that a certificate cannot be issued. The management reserves the right to exclude, without reimbursement, any student who is not punctual, who does not attend classes regularly or whose behaviour is inappropriate within the school, making it impossible for the student to enrol again.

9. Right of withdrawal and complaints :

Registrations made online give rise to a right of withdrawal of 14 days from the date of the order, unless the course has already started. Exercise of this right of withdrawal and complaints must be made in writing, by post (Alliance Française de Toulouse 3-3bis Place Guy Hersant - 31400 Toulouse), as evidenced by the postmark, or by e-mail (

- Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Toulouse and to French law.

10. Data protection :

In accordance with the French Data Protection Act no. 78-17 (CNIL) and European Regulation no. 2016/679/EU, we inform our students that their data is confidential and protected. They can be deleted on request at the end of their course.

11. Exceptional situation :

To ensure everyone's safety, the Alliance Française de Toulouse may implement health protocols adapted to the situations encountered. The Alliance Française reserves the right to modify the course modalities (face-to-face or online) without prior notice. In this case, no postponements or requests for refunds will be accepted.

12. Disability representative :

The Alliance Française de Toulouse is an establishment open to the public, adapted for people with disabilities.
The school's management is in charge of the disability referral service.
