Unusual visit: backstage at the Théâtre des Mazades

A tour of the Théâtre des Mazades was organised last autumn. On the programme: the auditorium, the stage, backstage and its machinery, followed by a drinks reception with French speakers.
Around ten students from the Alliance Française de Toulouse, including Brent, took part.
He tells us...

"Last week, I visited the Théâtre des Mazades with a dozen students from the Alliance Française de Toulouse. The theatre is located in the north-west suburbs of the city centre, next to the Minimes-Claude Nougaro metro station.

The theatre is large, with room for 500 people. It organises not only theatre performances but also music, circus, open-air cinema and much more. That evening there was no performance. We could visit everything. We were on the stage, we went up to look at it from above and we saw the backstage area. The way the lighting and curtains worked was explained, as was the link with the old sailors. It was really interesting.

After the tour, we mingled with French students learning foreign languages. There were about twenty of us, young and old, speaking a mixture of French, English and Spanish while drinking wine and eating snacks.

It was a wonderful evening.
Thank you all for this unique opportunity."
