To mark Francophonie Month and French Language Week, the Alliance Française de Toulouse invites you to discover an exceptional exhibition celebrating the richness, diversity and vitality of French around the world. From 9 to 27 March, immerse yourself in an inspiring literary journey to the heart of French-speaking cultures.
From Monday 9 March until 27 March, the Alliance Française de Toulouse will be hosting the exhibition " Writing in French: stories of languages, journeys of words ", as part of the Mois de la francophonie et de la Francophonie. French Language Week. Conceived as a constellation of bubbles escaping from an open book, this exhibition retraces the itinerary of 100 authors from the four corners of the globe who share a passion for writing in French. It's a sensitive and lively immersion in the many ways in which French is inhabited.
A veritable ode to multilingualism, this exhibition highlights the way in which the French language is enriched by contact with other languages. Each pathway presented reveals a unique relationship with French: a language of adoption, a language of creation, a language of transmission or of freedom. Through these inspiring trajectories, visitors will discover the diversity of cultural exchanges that are shaping the contemporary French-speaking world. The exhibition is also an invitation to dialogue and reflection, creating spaces for exchange around the French language and its international influence.
This project is the result of the cycle of literary encounters called « In French in the text »launched in 2017 by’Alliance Française de Paris. Since its inception, the programme has welcomed 45 writers from 26 countries at 34 events, attracting over 20,000 spectators from 95 countries, both in person and online. This international dynamic is now being extended to Toulouse, offering the public a unique opportunity to discover literary voices that invite us to read, to think and to open up to the world.
