Courses take place from Monday to Friday at our premises or online.

How can I find out my level?
To find out your level, you need to take a placement test. This test is free and lasts about 1 hour. It is absolutely essential that you answer all the questions and take it alone, i.e. without outside help, without a dictionary and without an online translator. This is not an exam, but a tool to help you follow a course at the level that suits you best.
You can skip it:
- on site between 9am and 11am (every day except Thursday)
- online via a Google Forms link that you will receive by email once you have registered
How many people are in a class?
Groups are made up of 8 to 15 students.
Do you get a diploma when you finish a level?
No, but the Alliance Française de Toulouse will issue you with a course completion certificate and a level certificate. You will automatically receive them by e-mail at the end of your stay.
Are there any books to buy for the courses?
Teachers use books and workbooks for intensive and evening courses from A1 to B2. They are not included in the course price. You can buy them at the Alliance Française de Toulouse office. They are in paper format, but each book contains a code giving you access to the PDF version.

A1: Wednesday mornings
A2: Wednesday afternoon
B1: Thursday morning
B2: Thursday afternoon
In 2026, you may be called up for the entire duration of the examinations.
When can I take the TCF IRN?
TCF Intégration, Résidence, Nationalité sessions are organised twice a month on Fridays from 1.45pm to 5pm.

When can I take the TCF TP?
TCF sessions for the general public are organised 5 Thursdays a year, from 1.45pm to 3.30pm.

Hosting
How do I find accommodation?
The Alliance Française de Toulouse offers accommodation with a host family or in self-catering accommodation.

Is the deposit paid for the host family booking refundable?
If you cancel less than 2 weeks before the start of your stay, the deposit is non-refundable.
Can a minor stay with a host family?
No, you have to be 18 to be able to stay with a host family.

How long can I register for a course?
It is possible to register up to 7 days before the next session.
If the deadline has passed, contact us There may still be places available in your level.
Are registration fees compulsory?
For a 1st registration, the registration fee is compulsory and is valid for 12 months.
They can be reimbursed if you present us with proof of registration from another Alliance Française dating back less than a year.
How do I obtain a certificate of enrolment for a student visa application?
A certificate of long-term enrolment at the Alliance française de Toulouse can be used to obtain a long-stay student visa. The student undertakes to attend classes for the full duration of their stay and no early termination will be possible, whatever the reason. Please note the specific rules of each country, but the Alliance Française de Toulouse has no obligation to provide information about obtaining visas or residence permits.
To apply for your student visa, you need to register for intensive French courses for a minimum of 4 months.
A break of up to one month will be tolerated, with a minimum of 7 days' notice..
If the long-stay visa is not obtained, the student may be reimbursed (100€ will be retained by the Alliance française for administrative costs) on condition that he/she provides us with the original enrolment certificate and proof that the visa has not been obtained at least 7 days before the start of the chosen course, otherwise a sum corresponding to one course session will be retained.
Can a minor take our courses?
The Alliance Française de Toulouse welcomes foreign students wishing to learn French. Students in international groups are aged 18 and over. Minors over the age of 16 may, in exceptional circumstances and with parental authorisation, take part in our courses. Please do not hesitate to contact us.

What are the different types of group holiday?
The Alliance Française in Toulouse currently offers 3 types of stay for groups:
IMMERSION FRANCE : a language holiday combining general French courses with cultural, tourist, gastronomic and sporting activities.
GENTLE FRANCE A cultural holiday based on discovering the region and meeting its inhabitants, with a range of combinable and flexible tours and cultural workshops.
CURRICULUM FRANCE A discovery of the student landscape - a forum of local colleges and universities, visits to Toulouse campuses - with courses in general French, French for University Purposes (FOU), French for Specific Purposes (FOS) and cultural activities.
What are the dates of the holidays?
We organise your group holidays from September to June.
How long does a stay last?
The length of your stay is free, from a few days to a few weeks.
What is the minimum age to take part in a group holiday?
We welcome groups from age 16with accompanying adults from the home school.
Is there a minimum and maximum number of participants?
To be considered as a group, with a specific programme (particularly for cultural and recreational activities), a minimum of 7 participants is recommended.
The maximum number depends on the nature of the request, particularly with regard to accommodation. (No more than 20 people, to be accommodated with a host family, for example).
Please note that the larger the number of participants, the longer the lead times.
How are the French lessons organised?
There are 2 possibilities:
- or learners join our recurrent international groups on intensive courses (Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 12.30pm, with a 15-minute break),
- or the group chooses to operate as a "constituted group".
For larger groups, a certain homogeneity in language levels and learning objectives is necessary. In this case, timetables are decided in consultation between the home establishment and the Alliance Française de Toulouse.
How are participants accommodated?
Depending on your choice and availability, you can be accommodated :
- in host families or
- in partner residences (Les Relais du Capitole, Citadines, Toulouse Social Hub).
Dietary restrictions and allergies
Any dietary restrictions must be notified when the quote is drawn up and may be subject to an additional charge.
If you have any food or animal allergies, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can find the right family for you.
Reduced mobility
The premises of the Alliance Française de Toulouse are adapted for people with reduced mobility, but some cultural and recreational activities are not.

What is included in the price?
It all depends on demand.
When it comes to hosting groups, it is the schools of origin that formulate their requirements and the Alliance Française de Toulouse responds with a quote.
Do I need a visa?
If you are a citizen of the European Union, you do not need a visa.

Our holidays do not include air tickets.
Are the activities conducted in French?
Yes, of course, it's an excellent opportunity to practise French in immersion and extend your language learning! The teachers are always friendly and adapt their way of speaking to the group.
Transport and travel
An airport shuttle can be arranged for arrival and departure.
A public transport card - bus, tram and metro - can be prepared (a charge is made for the card depending on the station). Tisséo fares in force at the time of your stay).

Financing training
Your employer can finance your courses. Please contact the relevant department and we will provide you with a quote.
France Travail cover is available. Ask your advisor about this and we will provide you with a quote on Kairos.
The Alliance Française de Toulouse is not yet registered for the CPF.
PRM access
The Alliance Française de Toulouse is equipped to enable people with reduced mobility (PRM) to get around as easily as possible: there is a lift to all floors, the toilets have been adapted and it is possible to go through the doors in a wheelchair.
Please inform us of your situation before your arrival so that we can organise your stay as effectively as possible.
Is it possible to have a student card?
Yes, the student card is free and valid for 12 months. All you have to do is apply for one and give a passport photo (paper) to reception.

Courses and
workshops
We offer a wide range of courses to suit all needs. It covers several areas of teaching, from general French to French for specific purposes, using a variety of methods: intensive, extensive, evening courses, individual courses or in-company courses.
In the afternoons, there are workshops on phonetic correction, oral expression, current affairs and society, and drama. It is also possible to take part in DELF preparation courses.
Examinations and
diplomas
The Alliance Française de Toulouse is a DELF examination centre and a TCF test centre approved by France Éducation international.
Several exam sessions are organised each year for DELF A1, A2, B1, B2, TCF IRN and TCF TP.

Learning a language also means discovering the local people and culture. In addition to an annual cultural programme, tourist, cultural, gastronomic and sporting activities are offered every month.
