Testimonial: High school students from Kreuzlingen stay at the Alliance Française de Toulouse

Our stay at the Alliance Française in Toulouse: two unforgettable weeks!

As a class from a German-speaking secondary school in the canton of Thurgau on Lake Constance, we were lucky enough to spend two extraordinary weeks at the Alliance Française de Toulouse, and the experience will remain engraved in our memories. As soon as we arrived on a Friday evening in April, the 21 Swiss-German students were warmly welcomed by the Alliance Française de Toulouse staff and their host families. The families put our 'little Swiss' at ease and played an essential role in our cultural and linguistic immersion, introducing us to everyday French life.

The language courses at the Alliance Française have not only enabled the teenagers to improve their level of French, but also to develop valuable intercultural skills - key skills in the 21st century.e century, characterised by mobilisation, globalisation and migration.

Our afternoons were punctuated by excursions and activities The visit to the medieval city of Carcassonne was a real trip back in time. The visit to the medieval city of Carcassonne was a real trip back in time, while our introduction to pétanque at a Toulouse club added a touch of conviviality to our stay. We also had the chance to sample the excellence of French cheeses during a tasting session that awakened our taste buds. And what about the visit to the Airbus factories? Diving into the heart of the world of aeronautics fascinated even the most technophobic among us.

The two weeks we spent in Toulouse not only enriched our knowledge of the French language, but also broadened our cultural and personal horizons. We're leaving with lasting memories and a renewed desire to continue learning French. A big thank you to the Alliance Française de Toulouse and everyone involved for making this adventure possible! We can't wait to go back with another class, with the aim of offering them a similar experience.
