A trip between Paris and Toulouse to discover the French language, culture and space
From 26 August to 9 September 2025, six young Taiwanese people from the Taiwan Global Pathfinders - Space enjoyed an exceptional immersion experience between Paris and Toulouse. Supported by the Taiwanese Ministry of Education and coordinated by the French Office in TaipeiThis trip has been designed to strengthen cultural and scientific exchanges between France and Taiwan around the fascinating theme of space exploration.
Paris: linguistic and cultural immersion in the heart of the capital
The trip began in Paris, a city emblematic of the French language and European culture. Participants took classes at the Alliance Française de Paris, while discovering the capital's most symbolic landmarks: the Seine, the Louvre, the Château de Versailles and the Observatoire de Meudon.
This first stage enabled the young Taiwanese to perfect their French while exploring the links between science, art and heritage, pillars of French cultural identity.
Toulouse: a meeting of space and Occitan conviviality
After the capital, it was on to Toulouse, the 'pink city' and European capital of aeronautics and space. Hosted by the Alliance Française de Toulouse, the students took part in meetings, visited laboratories in the CNES (Centre national d'études spatiales), discovered the unique atmosphere of the Stade Toulousain and explored the treasures of the region at Cordes-sur-Ciel and Albi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
There were plenty of opportunities to relax and socialise: pétanque, aperitifs and meetings with French-speaking students punctuated this immersion in French culture and the spirit of Toulouse.
A programme to strengthen ties between France and Taiwan
This initiative of the Pathfinders illustrates the wealth of educational and cultural cooperation between France and Taiwan. Thanks to the collaboration between the French Office in Taipei, theAlliance Française de Paris and the Alliance Française de Toulouse, these young ambassadors of the future leave with a better command of French, a deeper understanding of French culture and renewed inspiration for their projects in the space sector.
